Energy, environment & space research

We are a team of scientists based at the Chemistry Department at University College London (UCL) in the heart of London. Our work focuses on developing innovative solutions to meet future energy-storage needs and tackling a broad range of environmental challenges. As part of our environmental research, we explore space-related questions in particular concerning icy moons and cometary materials.

At the centre of most of our investigations is a single, remarkable molecule: water. From shaping life on Earth to being the key component of heat batteries and driving processes in the far reaches of space, is there any molecule more important in the Universe? Have a look at our list of publications.

Beyond our academic research, we also develop novel scientific instruments. By integrating microcontroller technologies, we create advanced sensing and control systems for a variety of experimental applications.
